YOUTH INTERNSHIP & STIPEND INITIATIVE

Overview of the Scheme

Chief Minister Dr Mohan Yadav has introduced a strategic welfare-to-work program that expands the reach of the Ladli Behna Yojana. Informally dubbed the “Ladli Bhaiyo” initiative for its inclusion of men, the scheme bridges the gap between financial aid and industrial employability.

Financial Breakdown

The scheme provides monthly stipends tied to industrial training:

  • Women: ₹6,000 per month.
  • Men: ₹5,000 per month.

Note: This initiative complements the planned increase for Ladli Behna beneficiaries, who are set to receive ₹1,500/month post-Diwali, scaling to ₹3,000 by 2028.

Strategic Industrial Focus: Acharpura Hub

The government is positioning the Acharpura Industrial Area (near Bhopal) as the primary hub for this initiative.

  • Job Creation: Initial phases are expected to generate over 1,600 direct jobs in sectors like textiles, garments, and healthcare.
  • Expansion: The foundation for Phase-3 (Hajjampur) has been laid to accommodate 100+ new industrial units.
  • Infrastructure: A dedicated police outpost with female officers is being established to ensure a safe environment for the rising female workforce.

Core Objectives

  1. Skill Alignment: Moving beyond simple cash transfers to “on-the-job” training in registered industries.
  2. Economic Self-Reliance: Reducing youth unemployment (targeting the 1.53 crore demographic aged 20–30).
  3. Gender Inclusion: Providing a pathway for women—specifically those already under Ladli Behna—to transition into formal industrial roles.
